Due to the recent announcements regarding the COVID 19 pandemic the charity has made the difficult decision to postpone this fundraising event, believing that the reduction of risk and welfare of everyone should take the highest priority at this time.
BUT we are not going to let COVID 19 stop us and we need your help to do something more personalised, your own 100 CHALLENGE. Please see below.
SCTE had organised this fundraising event to raise funds to support In the Pink Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Programme whilst highlighting October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Thanks go to Ian Malcolm, SCTE’s Nordic Walking Instructor, for his hard work in creating the individual weekend walks making up the Leicestershire Round 100 miles SCTE relay and to all our walk leaders who had volunteered to support this event.
Like many charities that rely on the goodwill of the public, losing the ability to bring people together to participate and enjoy fundraisings events has hit the sector extremely hard and for SCTE this is our third fundraising gathering to be postponed during 2020.
However, the SCTE Trustees do not want October and its passion in supporting those enduring Breast Cancer to slip away and would like to invite people to PLEDGE their support by donating through the JUST GIVING PAGE to complete their own 100 CHALLENGE!
The charity’s challenge to get 100 people, or more, to participate.
Below are some ideas!
You can complete a 100 miles of walking at times and in areas of your choice, that’s 3.23 miles every day for each day of the 31 days of October, approximately 7300 steps of your 10,000 step target each day, done!
Or you could complete 100 of a single task: 100 revolutions with a hula hoop!
Prehaps…
At this extraordinary time your pledge, however big or small, would be so much appreciated in helping to ensure that those suffering the effects of Breast Cancer access the support they need to rebuild their lives, confidence and self-esteem following this life changing diagnosis.
